Marionette lines

Marionette lines are the lines that run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin, so named for the mouth piece of a marionette puppet. These lines arise from repeated expressions using the muscles in the mouth as well as changes in fat and skin elasticity that occurs naturally as we age. Marionette lines tend to give the appearance that someone is frowning and can make the face look sad and tired. These lines can be corrected through the use of dermal fillers either directly into the lines or into the surrounding areas. The fillers that we use at Hedox Clinic are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the dermis, which is very safe and clinically tested.

These injections add in lost volume and take away the appearance of frowning, thereby softening the face. The cost of this treatment is around £300 or less, depending on the volume of filler needed and the effects can last around six to 12 months.  Repeated treatments are completely safe so it is possible to maintain this refreshed look. Those with quite deep lines may require additional product to achieve their desired result. Nevertheless, these filler injections are expertly delivered by our Consultant in Aesthetic Medicine, Dr Stephen Humble.
