Nasolabial folds

The nasolabial fold describes the line running down from either side of the nose towards the corner of the mouth and is sometimes known as a smile line. These lines are completely normal and are a normal part of the anatomy. However, as we age the nasolabial fold deepens and becomes more prominent, which makes us look older by adding years to the face. The crease becomes more noticeable with age due to changes in skin volume and elasticity, which makes the fold appear deeper. This can be corrected by injections of dermal fillers into the surrounding areas in the cheek and face, which add back in any lost volume, effectively filling the crease. Dermal fillers used at Hedox Clinic are made from the naturally occurring substance, hyaluronic acid, which is very safe and clinically tested.

These injections even out skin volume and lead to smooth, more refreshed looking skin. The cost of this treatment is around £300 or less, depending on the volume of filler needed and can be done in one clinic visit by our Consultant in Aesthetic Medicine, Dr Stephen Humble. The effects of this treatment last around 6-12 months and repeated treatment is completely safe, so regular injections can be carried out to keep the skin looking refreshed!
