Our In-Clinic Experience of Obagi

What is the best treatment for pigmentation and melasma?
- Dr Humble explains how the use of Obagi Medical's products can be used for the treatment of pigmentation and melasma.
- The active ingredients such as hydroquinone in the Obagi Nu-Derm System are highly effective at resolving pigmentation. The Obagi Nu-Derm includes:
- Obagi Gentle Cleanser - Cleanser to clean skin and remove bacteria
- Obagi Toner - to balance the pH of the skin
- Obagi Nu-Derm Clear - Includes hydroquinone to block the production of melanin. To be used in the morning. Prescription required or Fx version containing Arbutin available.
- Obagi Exfoderm - Exfoliant to use in the morning to remove dead skin cells from the surface and to help hydrate the dermis.
- Obagi Nu-Derm Blender - Effective hydroquinone to help correct hyperpigmentation. To be used in the evening. Prescription required or Fx version containing Arbutin available.
- Retinoic acid cream - prescription and non-prescription varieties available, to increase cell turnover, keep the skin clear while cells are regenerating, improving tone and texture. Comes in different strengths which we recommend on assessment. We think of this as the 'icing on the cake' of the NuDerm system and maximises the benefits of the products. Only applied at night.
- Obagi Nu-Derm Hydrate - to moisturise and hydrate the skin
- Obagi Sun Shield Matte Broad Spectrum SPF 50 - to protect the skin from the UVA and UVB rays. Use daily.
